The simple difference between finance and accounting is that accounting talks about the day-to-day flow of money in and out of a company and its recording (maintaining accounts/records), whereas finance is a much broader term for the management of assets and liabilities and the planning of future growth.

Accounting to me is the art of summarizing, reporting and recording finance related transactions. While Finance is the science behind the planning and distribution of assets within a business.

Accounting is keeping up with your business’s books while finance is broader and has to do with other topics as well besides just the books.
