Our company recently did a radio ad and I was curious what you guys thought about that kind of advertising. Is it worth it, do people even listen to the radio?

I think broadcast television is fading in importance with the rapid rise of digital channels. TV is still remarkably powerful because of its ability to reach large audiences at a low cost (CPM) and communicate via sight, sound and motion. Television is excellent at telling stories and building brands. While brand-awareness and brand-building are still important, marketing efforts are increasingly targeting the action part of the marketing equation, as prospects know what they want to buy. Amazon is strong proof that shopping patterns are increasingly digitally driven.
Digital media are eclipsing broad-reach media like television because of their ability to specifically target individuals based on behaviors and intent. As well, digital media follow us on our smart phones — tracking our location and marrying it to our known behaviors. Our phones connect us with one another and brands via social platforms, e-mail, texting, viewing and browsing. The reality is that we spend much more time on our phones than in front of our our televisions.
